Explore the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary after hours and join us for a night of camping under the stars. Have an early dinner at home and then come with your family and your tent. We will explore nature through games and hands-on activities, set up our tents near the Barn before sundown, and tell stories after the sun sets. All campouts include an evening and a morning activity or hike and a light breakfast.

Parker River National Wildlife Refuge invites families to join Katie Hone, The Monarch Gardener, for this fun and interesting one hour program about the monarch butterfly.  The program will include a presentation about monarchs with interactive role playing and live animals AND making milkweed “seed bombs” (to take home).  Meet, tag and release live monarch butterflies to the wild! This program is geared to younger children and their parents.  This program will take place in the refuge visitor center classroom.  NO preregistration for this program.

Join Salem Sound Coastwatch staff and volunteers to walk the Forest River and explore a hidden gem that is right in our own back yard. Stroll along the river winding its way through salt marsh, an abundant habitat for many fish and birds. Take in the view of Salem from the top of Eagle Hill and learn about this body of water that flows into Salem Harbor. Wear shoes that can get muddy. Come help Salem Sound Coastwatch with the Coastsweep cleanup of Dane Street Beach in Beverly, Massachusetts!
As part of COASTSWEEP 2018, volunteers are encouraged to come to Dane Street Beach to help in the statewide effort to keep our coastline clean along the shore in Salem Massachusetts. Trash collected will be measured and analyzed, and the data will be sent to Washington DC to aid the government in creating legislation to minimize trash in our oceans! This specific cleanup is coordinated by Salem Sound Coastwatch.
