Weekday Little Explorers: The Mitten

Read "The Mitten" by Jan Brett and then take a hike to look for animal homes

We'll read The Mitten by Jan Brett and then take a hike to look for animal homes in the sanctuary. Using a very large mitten, we will recreate the story. As a group, we'll build a people shelter and see how warm we can make it.

Imagine, Sing, & Learn 1A: Paws & Claws in the Snow

Kids ages 3-6 will learn about tracks in the snow and the animals that make them

This parent/child program is designed for the creative, curious, and active preschooler. Each 90-minute session offers a structured series of activities including original songs, movement, dramatic play, outdoor exploration, and a thematic snack. When it's time to go home, you'll receive coloring pages, song lyrics, vocabulary, a fun fact sheet, and a suggested reading list via e-mail. At this ISL, we'll learn to identify tracks in the snow and about the creatures that leave them behind!

Curious George at CMNH

Kids will be able to meet Curious George at the Children's Museum of NH!

Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat will be visiting the Children's Museum of New Hampshire to greet young fans and help promote the love of reading via the Books Alive program.  At this Books Alive event, museum staff will be reading Curious George stories by Margret and Hans “H.A.” Rey throughout the day. The friendly costumed monkey character, accompanied by the Man with the Yellow Hat, will be popping in and out to greet children, exchange a hug or high-five, and pose for photos.

Debbie & Friends Sandy Hook Benefit Concert

Debbie & Friends use original songs to tell stories that children know and love.

A live Debbie & Friends show is a trip for the entire family—a joyful jaunt through a variety of styles, from straight-ahead pop, to country, to rock, to reggae, all delivered by a band of musicians who are clearly there because they love it.  This full-band performance will include both Debbie and Friends songs and some classic favorites, with a cast of top-shelf musicians from Berklee College of Music, including Debbie Cavalier on vocals and keyboard, Rory McKenzie on bass, Eric Salt on guitar, Bill D’Agostino on drums, Mike Carrera on vocals. Special guest performance by two-time Grammy-winner, Bill Harley! This is a family show you won't want to miss!

New Year's Eve at NH Children's Museum

New Year's Eve at the Children's Museum of New Hampshire is a popular event!

There is no better way to ring in the New Year with family and friends of all ages than at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire’s annual New Year’s Eve Celebration. The museum is open to the public on December 31st from 10 am – 3 pm as we create festive party hats, tie our wishes for the new year to balloons and host “countdowns to midnight” at 11 am, 12:30 pm and 2 pm.

NEAQ's Aqua Kids Family Days

Activities, stories and live animal presentations await at NEAQ's Aqua Kids Days

Come to New England Aquarium on Friday mornings where you and your children can hear stories, create art projects, see Live Animal Presentations and have underwater adventures! Meet in the Curious George Discovery Corner on the first floor of the Aquarium. Family Days are open to all Aquarium visitors, and no registration is required.
