Montserrat College of Art Offers Youth S.T.E.A.M.

Montserrat College of Art Offers Youth S.T.E.A.M. programs in Beverly for Grades 3-12. Students have fun while creating and gaining new, useful understanding and skills that will enhance their regular classroom experiences.

The  S.T.E.A.M. program provides youth in grades 3 -12 opportunities to experience hands-on learning in a safe, supervised environment, led by professional faculty from educational institutions on the North Shore and beyond. Sessions are offered in spring, summer and fall, with the summer sessions running week-long, flexible, part or full-time with before and after care available.

Summer Program and Camp at Montserrat College of Art Offers Youth S.T.E.A.M.

Montserrat College of Art’s Youth S.T.E.A.M. Summer Camps are flexible, partial, or full-day opportunities for youth in grades 3-8 to experience hands-on learning in a safe, supervised environment, led by professional faculty from educational institutions on the North Shore and beyond.

S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) classes incorporate creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and presentation. The week-long camps will run July 9 through Aug. 3 at Montserrat College of Art’s downtown 248 Cabot St., Beverly building. Students are welcome to attend for more than one session.

NSCC: Kids to College: SCRUBS - Life in the ER: A Look at Careers in Health Care!

North Shore Community College Youth Programs and Kids to College Programs. Summe

Have you been wondering about a career in health care but don’t know where to begin?  Start with North Shore Community College’s Scrubs program and learn the pathways you can follow in the fast paced, growing field of health care. Explore careers in Surgical Technology, Medical Assisting, Nursing, Radiology, OT, and Respiratory Therapy in our state of the art Health Professions building. Working with simulators, including a baby simulator, study how to treat diseases of the heart and lungs, check blood pressure, scrub into surgery and care for wounds. Please pack a brown bag lunch!

Want to learn to be a computer programmer? Start here with this 3-D educational software course that will challenge you to create interactive stories, animations, and games. Alice’s environment provides an engaging platform to learn about programming design by creating 3-D characters, backgrounds, and stories; Next, learn to  use the programming tiles to make those objects interact in compelling ways  that will allow you to: Build Cool Stuff, Challenge Your Mind, Seek the Answer, Have Fun, Change the World.

Camp Invention in Ipswich

Kids can explore, create, discover and learn skills that will follow them through their futures at Camp Invention!

Camp Invention will host a session in Ipswich Massachusetts for the week of August 8-12, 2016 from 9am-3:30pm. Camp Invention programs have encouraged nearly two million curious minds to explore, create and invent. The Camp Invention curriculum is new each and every year to ensure that our participants have a dynamic and memorable summer experience. Created by the National Inventors Hall of Fame, Camp Invention is the only nationally recognized summer program focused on creativity, innovation, real-world problem solving and the spirit of invention.

Minecraft Construction and Video Game Design

Check out North Shore Community College Youth Programs this summer. Be sure to register early for the very popular Minecraft and Video Gaming classes.

In the Minecraft class, kids will explore using red stone to build simple machines and build a house based on real architectural styles. Explore digital logic by learning to design and build complex mechanisms, traps, and combination locks.

Kids will start creating their own video game in the Video Gaming class! Plus, learn what career paths you can pursue that include video game play and design.

Adventures in 3D Game Design with Minecraft®

Kids will build a MineCraft Adventure as part of a dev team at this Summer Camp

Do you have a Minecraft fan in your house? Here's a unique opportunity to turn their love of the game into a wonderful learning experience that fosters creativity, critical thinking and teamwork! This one week course is for kids ages 8-12, where the only requirements are the love of the game and the desire to craft more! This course is part of the Digital Media Academy at Harvard University course catalog for the Summer of 2014.
