Moseley Woods

Overlooking the Merrimack River in historic Newburyport, MA, Moseley Woods is a 16-acre public park featuring hiking trails, picnic tables, a well-equipped playground and a spacious pavilion that is home to a summer concert series. A haven for nature lovers, dog walkers and children, the park is maintained by the Friends of Moseley Woods, a registered non-profit corporation established by members of the Moseley Woods Commission and the City of Newburyport.

Cushing Park

Cushing park is a strange little park that is mostly parking lot, but does offer some facilities for basketball, and a playground with swings.

Cashman Park

This waterfront park offers lots of open space with  facilities for basketball, baseball, soccer, and tennis, as well as a fairly big field, a playground and a boat ramp.

Bartlet Mall

The historic Bartlet Mall, located in Newburyport, Mass., is a beautiful park featuring a large recreational area and ornamental pond. It was first shaped thousands of years ago by ice which broke off a retreating glacier. When the ice finally melted, it left a steep-sided gully that geologists call a kettle hole.

Atkinsons Common

Also accessible via High and Mosley Streets.  Some of the great features of this park are the tennis courts and baseball diamonds, the stone tower and the dual ponds.

Great Neck Park

This is a great playground that has newly installed equipment (circa 2010) on a giant rubberized outdoor mat. There are unique and creative activities in a giant ship-like structure that include multiple slides, climbing ladders, rope climbers and some really neat spaces for kids to just hang out.

This park is only steps from Pavilion Beach
