Visit Lowell's Boat Shop in Amesbury for their annual holiday open house!

Visit Lowell’s Boat Shop during their Annual Holiday Open House is a two day family event during the first weekend in December. On the main shop level, guests can enjoy a silent auction as well as a retail display featuring the shop's traditional hand crafted items as well as our seasonal merchandise.

Model Ship Show

Come to Peabody MA for a FREE model ship show.

Hundreds of models ships of all types will be on display in downtown Peabody! There will be all types, made from wood, plastic paper and miscellaneous media and created by hobbyists and professionals from the Greater Boston area.  Many of these models are incredibly detailed works of art worthy of museum display.  Come see these wonderful pieces and meet the people who make them!  You'll learn about their skills and hear some great stories, and its a great time for all visitors. Please use the side entrance to the building.

Surreal and Absurd Weekend Festival

Explore the surreal and absurd at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem.

PEM hosts a weekend-long festival focused on surrealism and absurdity.Step into the surreal and experiment with Surrealist techniques, experience dreamlike films and make friends with odd creatures from Big Nazo. Through art activities, demonstrations, story times, guided exhibit tours, film and interactive demonstrations, participants will walk away with a better understanding of the surrealism and its effect onb our our society.

Visit Lowell’s Boat Shop for a guided tour led by Executive Director and Master Boat Builder, Graham McKay! Founded in 1793, Lowell's Boat Shop is the oldest continuously operating wooden boat shop in the United States. Now a National Historic Landmark, Lowell's continues to build wooden boats in the traditional method.
