The Relay for Life at Endicott College is a community event that raises funds funds for the American Cancer Society and creates an opportunity to celebrate those who have battled cancer, remember lost loved ones, and fight back against the disease. 1 in 3 people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. One of those people could be you or someone you love. That's why we Relay.
Come to Flatbread Pizza - Georgetown for great wood-fired, home-made flatbread pizza and help Kittredge Elementary's PTO raise funds for their programs! Calling all runners and walkers--and their children--who love our North Shore beaches. Sign up for the Annual Coastal 5K Run for the Beach! Enjoy a green road race* on a great course while helping to protect our local beaches and marine life! The course starts at Dane Street Beach, goes through wooded residential side streets to the Lighthouse at Hospital Point, loops back through historic Beverly to Independence Park and ends with more ocean views.
This FREE class is designed to teach women and young women how to protect themselves when faced with uncomfortable situations and how to avoid them in the first place. Taught by John Kotch, a black belt instructor in Isshin-Ryu Karate, the class includes techniques used in Isshin-Ryu karate (known as a street, self-defense style based upon survival tactics) as well as those utilized by various martial arts styles, military and law enforcement personnel.
The Cape Ann Farmers' Market will be holding their annual fundraiser this year at the Cape Ann Community Cinema! Join them for a dinner and movie at the cinema featuring the film 'Local Thrity', a film that follows farmer Andrea Bemis and her family as they meet seven producers from the Oregon coast to Oregon ranching country during a month-long commitment to eating foods grown or harvested within 200 miles. Maureen Aylward bring the storytelling program, Fish Tales, which she produces through the Gloucester Writers Center, back to our fundraiser with the theme “Food for Thought.” Come enjoy the community spirit, share a movie and a meal and help support the Farmer's Market.
Come join the Danvers Kiwanis Club for their 49th annual Pancake Breakfast. This is one of the clubs biggest fundraisers. Thanks to those that come and support us we have been able to donate over $600,00 to the Danvers Community. Price includes Pancakes, Juice, Milk, Coffee, Sausages and Ham! Join Sawyer Free Library, the Boston Bruins and Cradles to Crayons in their goal to collect new pajamas for kids in need! The Boston Bruinshost their 12th Annual PJ Drive from February 1 - March 15. The drive will benefit Cradles for Crayons and DCF Wonderfund, two non-profits that ensure positive living conditions for children.
Emma Andrews Library and Community Center invites you to the library for a bowl of hot soup on a Winter afternnon! Come enjoy the library, share some great food and leave knowing that the price of your meal will go to fund children's programming at the library. February's Souper Saturday will feature Chicken and Wild Rice soup, Tuscan Fish Stew, Split Yellow Pea soup with Kielbasa, Vegetable Pesto soup, and will debut Fruit Loops soup.
