Saint Anthony's Feast in North End Boston MA

Each year the people of the North End of Boston invite you to celebrate with them as they honor their patrons Saint Anthony and Saint Lucy with colorful parades, religious services, strolling singers, live entertainment and of course an abundance of great Italian and American food.

The feast first began in 1919, by Italian immigrants from the small town of Montefalcione in Avellino, Saint Anthony’s Feast has become the largest Italian Religious Festival in New England.

Named the “Feast of all Feasts” by National Geographic Magazine, this authentic Italian street festival has it all for people of every age: parades, strolling singers, live entertainment, contests and religious services are held daily.

Visitors stroll the beautifully decorated streets sampling the best Italian street foods from 100 pushcarts enjoying arancini, sausage peppers & onion, quahogs, calamari, pizza, pasta and of course zeppole, cannoli and gelato.

Gloucester Schooner Festival 2019

The Gloucester Schooner Festival celebrates maritime, sailing and fishing herita

The Gloucester Schooner Festival is a  wonderful celebration of Gloucester's fishing and maritime history during labor day weekend. This year's festival, hosted by Maritime Gloucester, is Gloucester’s major marine event, with participating vessels coming from ports along the Eastern seaboard and beyond. There will be both large and small vessels—ranging from 19 feet to over 100 feet in length. You will see new boats and old boats, from newly built (Ardelle - launched 2011) to over 100 years old!

Manchester Festival by the Sea celebrates art on Cape Ann and the local bounty of Artistry.

The Festival by the Sea is an annual event hosted by the Manchester Division of the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, this all-day extravaganza taps into the long-line of local talent with musical and artistic performers alike. Visitors can take in the sights of Masconomo Park while surveying the art and handcrafted items from some of the finest talent assembled. Celebrating locally grown art, music and food in downtown Manchester-by-the-Sea, this all day event will highlight not only the idyllic beauty of Cape Ann but also the incredible talent for which the area has become synonymous.

Did you know National Donut Day started in Chicago in 1938 as a tribute to The Salvation Army “Doughnut Lassies”? The Lassies traveled overseas during WWI to help support & boost morale of front line troops by setting up small huts to provide supplies and baked goods. Nicknamed “Donut Lassies,” the women who served donuts to troops are often credited with popularizing the donut in the United States.
