Maritime Gloucester invites you to join maritime archaeologists for a tour of the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary's historic shipwrecks to uncover the mysteries and secrets hidden beneath the waves. The event will include a showing of the 45-minute Science Channel's Viewers Choice Award documentary The Wreck of the Portland, followed by a tour of the Sanctuary's exhibit in the Maritime Gloucester.

Exploring Land and Water Weekend Festival

At this Weekend Festival, the focus willk be on exploration and explorers!

PEM hosts a day-long festival focused on exploration, explorers and their tools. Through art activities, demonstrations, a live animal presentation, guided exhibit tours, film and interactive demonstrations, participants will walk away with a better understanding of the explorer's viewpoint and their impact on art, culture, science and society as a whole.

Join us for our Summer Movie Matinees on Tuesday afternoons . We will be screening a movie on Tuesday at 2:00pm. Come and enjoy the air conditioning, theatre-like screen, and sound system. This free event will be held in the Program Room and all are welcome!

Chill Out at Movie Night for Teens!

Chill out with an antarctic themed movie at the Newburyport Public Library!

Teens in grades 7 through 12 are welcome to join us on Tuesday, July 26, from 6:00 to 8:30pm in the Program Room for Movie Night. The audience will have a choice between two films set in Antarctica. Cool down, hang out, and enjoy popcorn and other treats as we watch the film on our big screen with surround sound!

1st Annual Cape Ann Public Schools Video Festival

The 1st Annual Cape Ann Youth Video Festival is sponsored byt the GEF.

The Gloucester Education Foundation invites all Gloucester Public School students aged 6-19 to participate in the 1st Annual Cape Ann Youth Video Festival! Videos produced by students will be judged according to grade level: Elementary, Middle and High School. There's  no limit to the number of participants involved in each video's production, and videos will be shown through out the day at various locations, including the Cape Ann Community Cinema, during the Gloucester Public School Arts Festival on May 7, 2011.

Mother Nature's Child at CACC

Mother Nature's Child explores how todays children are disconnected from nature.

Come to the Cape Ann Community Cinema for a screening of Mother Nature's Child, a new film about the growing divide between children and nature and how we can begin the process of healing this divide. Following the screening, Wendy Conquest, The Co-Producer of Mother Nature's Child, will be joining us and will answer questions about the film. Proceeds will benefit Kestrel Educational Adventures.

Teen Night - March Madness Game Night

Sponsored by the Community House Of Hamilton & Wenham. The purpose the Middle School Teen Night Program is to provide an outlet for middle school aged youth to enjoy safe and supervised social activity. Events may include dances, games, pizza and movie night, karaoke, sports nights, and adventure based activities.

Be prepared for peeper season this Spring! Learn about the temporary habitat of vernal ponds, what lives in them, why they are home to specialized woodland creatures and how to protect them. Presented by Cape Ann Vernal Pond Team and sponsored by the Rockport Conservation Commission.
