Backyard Growers Presents: The second annual Gloucester Grow Fest! Join us at Burnham's field on Saturday, June 9th to celebrate healthy eating, green living, and warm weather! There will be garden tours, art projects, yummy food, games, live music, community yoga, and more! This event is free and has something for people of all ages. See you there!

Peabody Essex Museum celebrates Earth Day in Salem Massachusetts. Join in a variety of hands-on activities in Wes Sam-Bruce’s Mobile Art Studio. Consider what freedom means to you and your relationship with nature through writing prompts inspired by the Jewish Arts Collaborative and National Poetry Month. Meet members from the Backyard Growers Program, a nonprofit organization that has built more than 200 raised bed gardens, serving hundreds of Gloucester residents, and learn about the food system, the garden ecosystem and the science behind growing food.

New Entry, an initiative of Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy and additional partners, works locally, regionally, and across the country to strengthen local food systems by supporting new farmers. Emma Andrews Library and Community Center invites you to the library for their annual fundraising plant sale!   As you are contemplating your gardens and find an excess of plants or plants that need dividing, please donate them to us. Plants may be dropped off in the backyard of the Emma at 77 Purchase Street on Friday, June 1. And then, come join us on Saturday, June 2 to find wonderful offerings for your garden. All proceeds go to fund the general expenses to keep the library running.
