Run through Boo-tiful Historic Salem! Get your best running costume ready for the 11th running of this annual Salem Haunted Happenings Event. A great way to begin your day of Halloween fun in Salem. Let the kids join the Halloween costume fun with the Spooktacular Kids Broom Dash. Post-race awards, costume contest, music, photos, refreshments and more.
Come to Downtown Salem to enjoy outdoor shopping on a crisp early fall weekend. Shop for uniquely Salem items at over 100 vendor booths on the Essex Street Pedestrian Mall, Hawthorne Boulevard and surrounding areas. Entertainers, street performers and live music performances all add to the festive atmosphere. Wear a costume or come to just feel the anticipation of Halloween in the air! Hosted by the Salem Chamber of Commerce.
Mayor's Night Out in Salem is a night for Salem residents to enjoy the hospitality of their town with free admission to attractions, museums and free parking downtown! Please look for the “Mayor’s Night Out” sign on the door of participating businesses. There will be free parking in the Museum Place Mall garage after 4:00pm. All you need is a photo id to prove your residency and you'll be able to take advantage of special activities at participating businesses throughout the downtown area.
Join the artists on Artists’ Row for Salem Mayor's Night Out and a free fun activity: Tap into your creative spirit one of several Halloween inspired works of art such as, miniature witch brooms, pumpkins, ghosts, goblins, vampires or Frankensteins from the materials provided! Keep what you make and be creative using paints, scrap wood, branches and more!

There's fun for the whole family. Rides are a Cushing Amusements Production! This year's Carnival is located at Salem Willows.
Come join or watch this Salem tradition to kick off Haunted Happenings that is filled with pageantry, music, and the enthusiasm of thousands of Salem’s students from kindergarten to college. This year’s theme is "Movie Monsters". Parade begins at Shetland Park and ends at Salem Common.
Take a stroll up historic Chestnut Street and join the sea chantey-singing Salem pirates for tricks, treats, and treasures at Historic New England’s Phillips House on Halloween night. This special family-friendly event is free and takes place on Thursday, October 31 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Salem’s official trick-or-treating hours.
There's nothing like October in Salem and the SCNA is thrilled to host two weekends of our annual Kids Carnival on the Common including rides, face painting, and family fun! There is no admission fee to enter the carnival. Tickets for rides are $3/ticket or $15 for an unlimited daily wristband. Each ride costs 1 ticket.
