Essex National Heritage Area sites offer over 150 free family fun events over two weekends each September for the annual celebration of TRAILS & SAILS. Participants can hike, bike, paddle, stroll or sail through the region and Essex National Heritage Area will provide a passport to fun and adventure. Pettengill Farm and the Salisbury Elementary School PTA are hosting an afternoon of whimsical fairy woodland fun! Join them for the second annual Fairy Gnome Discovery Walk at Pettengill Farm. The gems of the event are the Fairy and Gnome Homes peppered throughout a 1 mile wooded path that leads to the marsh and back. Homes are created by talented professionals, families, school children, and local businesses.
