The Topsfield Fair is a perennial favorite for us. We're not the biggest fans of the midway, although it is always worth a walkthrough and a ride or two. We love fruits and vegetables, and are always on the lookout for the winning 'biggest pumpkin'. Another favorite is checking out the pigs and other farm animals, as well as the interesting variety of guinea pigs and rabbits.
Pack a picnic, and join the fun at Back Beach in Rockport for the 'Music at the Beach' Concert Series. These community events are open to all and take place at the bandstand on Back Beach.
Newburyport Yankee Homecoming welcomes the band Rage 'N' Age to the opening Water Front Concert for Newbuyrport Yankee Homecoming 2017. Rage ‘N’ Age is a New Hampshire and Massachusetts based band that has been together for 18 years. With David on drums, Peter on bass, Bob on guitar, Gary on keyboard, and everyone on vocals, RNA performs songs from the Fifties to today. Vocal harmonies and audience participation are what sets this band apart from many other groups, leaving a lasting impression everywhere they play. Their venues include the Hampton Beach Seashell, Capones, The Fireside, Maddie’s of Saugus as well as too many weddings and private parties to mention. Kids are invited to the children's garden at the Peabody Institute Library - Danvers children's garden for a fun show featuring the Music Man - Brian Doser! Brian performs nothing but straight ahead music to get your child up and dancing. These classic songs were inspired by time honored tunes sung to him by his grandmother years ago. Be careful, parents may find themselves singing along and joining in the fun!

Doo Wop every Friday night on Salisbury Beach! Enjoy classic tunes from the 50s, 60s, 70s and Motown on the Salisbury Beach stage. It’s the Rock & Roll Oldies Show with your host DJ Ralphie B and weekly special guest singers, 7:15 to 9PM. Then DJ Jeff B takes the stage from 9 to 10PM for a kid dance party under the stars – complete with hoola hoops, limbo, bubbles & much more. Be sure to join in all the fun!
The Patricia Lockwood Bach Scholarship for the Arts is pleased to announce a May 20th fundraising event at Marblehead Little Theatre. The Bach Scholarship is awarded to a Marblehead High School graduating senior who intends to pursue higher education in the creative arts.
The Phillips Academy Music Department will present a spring concert featuring The Fidelio Society, the oldest musical organization on Andover Hill. The program will include a selection of madrigals, sacred, and contemporary music. They will be joined by Tiffany Tien, vibraphone, in the premier also premier a work by Charles Stacy, PA’16, with lyrics by Erika Nork, PA’16, entitled “Bright Filaments, Shimmering.”
The Massachusetts Cultural Council is presenting a showcase concert featuring the excellence and diversity of music and dance traditions thriving in Massachusetts today. Performers are past or current recipients of an Artist Fellowship or Traditional Arts Apprenticeship, prestigious awards from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Come experience a Dominican carnival procession, then be enthralled by leading exponents of South Indian vocals, violin, and percussion, West African balafon (xylophone), djembe drum, and ceremonial dance, and Irish flute, uilleann pipe and old style step dance.
“One Earth – Many Songs” – a concert featuring selections by Bach, Vivaldi, Schubert, Rutter, Copland and other selections. The Honors Youth Choir of Chorus North Shore is an outstanding group of talented young musicians. They come together to learn discipline and joy of shared music. The program is fully funded, allowing students ages ten through high school the opportunity to learn and perform choral masterworks and present extraordinary concerts. The singers are selected by audition.
