See the evidence in cellar holes, stonewalls, and carriage paths. Learn the stories of a colorful cast of characters who transformed it into a such special place. Pre-registration requested.

The The Trustees of Reservations invite you to celebrate Spring with family and friends at Castle Hill on the Crane Estate in Ipswich. During this FREE day of events and activities you can take a self-guided tour of the Great House, enjoy lawn games along the rolling Grand Allée, go on a family-friendly treasure hunt, join a may-pole dance, find out what SummerQuest camp is all about, and get the low down on becoming a Trustees volunteer! People are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch!

Quarry Tour - Sunday

Kids will enjoy this tour of the Halibut Point State Park and Quarry Rokcport MA

Enjoy a guided tour of Halibut Point State Park around the Babson Farm Quarry, unearthing the granite industry era followed by a traditional hand-tool stone splitting demonstration. Halibut Point itself is made of sheets of 440 million year-old granite that now cascade from rocky headlands to the abundant tidal pools below. The panorama encompasses views from Crane Beach in Ipswich to Mount Agamenticus in Maine and the Isles of Shoals off the coast of New Hampshire. This glorious natural landscape is breathtaking and inspiring.

Daffodil Day at Long Hill

D Day stands for Daffodil Day at Sedgweick Garden in Beverly Massachusetts

The Trustees of Reservations invites you to bring the family for a celebration of spring’s arrival at Long Hill and Sedgwick Gardens. With carpets of bulbs in bloom, a daffodil walk, a visit to the Children’s Garden, and for the second year, people can Pick-Their-Own daffodil bouquet at the PYO Flower Fields.  This event is FREE but a $5 donation is suggested.  This day is sure to brighten everyone’s spring! Self-guided tours and refreshments.

Safe Boating Day Event

United States Coast Guard Station Gloucester will hold its annual Safe Boating Day Event on Saturday May 18th, to kick off National Safe Boating Week, which is May 18-25. The event is to promote boating safety and awareness.

Pancake Breakfast at Breakheart Reservation

Come to Breakheart Reservation for a pancake breakfast with syrup made on site!

Breakheart Reservation invites you to a pancake breakfast, that isn't about the pancakes - it's about the syrup! The reservation runs its own maple sugaring operation that produces syrup right on site. Come visit the sugar shack, then sit down for a hearty pancake breakfast featuring the freshest real maple syrup that you can get! The admission directly supports the event and the maple sugaring operation.

Maple Sugaring at Breakheart Reservation

Come to Breakheart Reservation SaugusMA  to learn about maple sugaring.

Breakheart Reservation is hosting maple sugaring tours of the reservation. Come see how maple sap is collected - one drip at a time - and processed into a naturally sweet sugar and syrup.  These tree to table tours are fun and informative and kids will love learning about this unique tradition that was taught to European settlers by native Americans upon their arrival in the New World!  Admission helps fund the reservations' maple sugaring program!

Sugaring Off Tours at IRWS

Sugaring Off tours are a fun and tasty way to learn about maple suagring at IRWS

Spring celebrations begin early at the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary with the age-old tradition of maple sugaring. The warm days of late winter awaken the flow of sap in the maples, causing buds to swell and resulting in sweet-smelling billowing clouds of steam rising from the sugarhouse.

Appleton Farms invites families to come visit the sugar shack at Appleton Farms and experience the sights and smells of this historic New England tradition! Take a walk to see our beautiful, maple-lined avenues and help collect sap, then learn how it becomes delicious maple syrup. FREE. Donations accepted!
