The Stage 284 offers a fun filled vacation week of training: acting, voice, and movement. During this week, students will work through acting exercises and theatre activities and a rehearsal period resulting in a workshop production of the Matilda on The Stage 284 mainstage. Taught by Stage 284’s artistic staff, this workshop is not to be missed!

The magic of Santa has been experienced by generations of children and their families at our annual pancake breakfast. Santa’s helpers capture the special moment of your child with Santa in a photograph. Boy Scouts provide a cookie decorating activity for the children. Each child receives a small gift.

Stock up on cookies at the Cookie Walk, bid on gift baskets donated by Winthrop School classes. Enjoy a scrumptious lunch in the Winthrop Café (all food donated by local restaurants and caterers), and browse full selection from Scholastic Book Fair. Children will delight in doing their own holiday shopping with the help of some very eager elves in the Children’s Secret Shop where all gifts cost $6 or less. And most importantly, Santa will be on site!
The holiday boutique is the largest fundraiser for the Friends of Winthrop. 100% of the funds raised goes back to the school to fund new technology, cultural enrichment programs that enhance the curriculum, new playground equipment and field trips.
The Community House Of Hamilton & Wenham invites children to bring their own flashlight or glowsticks for the tree and gazebo lighting and a Christmas Carol Sing for all ages! Brian Doser and Joe Scuderi, along with a few special guests, team up for an exciting evening of caroling and lighting of The Community House, the gazebo in Patton Park and the Christmas Tree at People’s United Bank on Railroad Avenue with cookies and cocoa! Children are encouraged to bring their own flashlight or glowsticks. A great way to kick off your Christmas celebrations. Booklets of carols are provided.
ECTA is holding its inaugural Thanks for the Trails 5k and Kids Fun Run the day after Thanksgiving at Patton Park in Hamilton. Using a scenic and challenging course and offering great prizes, this will be an event for all! In addition to cash (or gift certificates) for top finishers, and many other terrific prizes, there will be cash prizes for the teams (co-ed) with the most runners and that have the best score (on a traditional XC scoring basis). This race builds on the fine tradition enjoyed by so many for the last 10 years with Gabe's Run, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Gabe's Fund. Whether you seek a personal record or camaraderie with old friends and rivals, this event is for you!
Join HWRHS Choirs and A Cappella groups for the Annual Harvest Concert & Auction. Harvest, annually held on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, is an opportunity for family, friends and school alumni to come to HWRHS and enjoy a night of beautiful singing and fun. Concert choir holds a bake sale and silent auction to raise money for the choral program. These funds go toward field trip costs, guest speakers, workshops, and so much more.
