Join the fun while doing good at the 24 hour-long MDA Muscle Walk Challenge at Ken Spellman Track in Ipswich this this June! One of our friends, Deb LaFrance, will be walking the full 24 hour stint to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, with a goal of $20,000. Explore the rhythms of Appleton Farms with your pre-schooler. Meet the cows, harvest the fields, wander the woods, and dig in to farm chores. Fiddleheads experience it all through age-appropriate sensory activities, stories, songs, and games. Each program will last 1 hour and will have a different theme such as “What Plants Need to Grow” or “Meet the Cows.” Please pre-register. Fee covers one adult and child. Additional children for TTOR members: $24 [$30 for non-members].

During this FREE day of events and activities you can take a self-guided tour of the Great House, enjoy lawn games along the rolling Grand Allée, go on a family-friendly treasure hunt, join a may-pole dance, find out what SummerQuest camp is all about, and get the low down on becoming a Trustees volunteer! Northeast Massachusetts Youth Orchestras (NMYO) will be presenting their Winter Afternoon of Concerts on Sunday, December 10 at Ipswich Performing Arts Center. The afternoon will be split into two events – a concert at 2:30pm featuring Prelude and Overture String Ensemble, Intermezzo Orchestra, Junior Flute Choir, and Flute Choir; and a concert at 5:00pm featuring the Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Select Flute Choir.
Calling volunteers ages 13 and up! Join the farmhand crew to work along side our staff and gain first hand experience with our milking herd, our calving season and our seeding and planting season for the Communtiy Supported Agriculture program. This crew will dig in and have plenty of fun on the farm, while helping our busy farmers prepare for summer!
Celebrate the Year of the Dog with traditional Chinese performing arts at the Ipswich Performing Arts Center. In an energetic hour-long show by Boston's Chinese Folk Art Workshop , a variety of traditional Chinese folk arts will be showcased including the Dragon Dance, Lion Dance, Taiwanese Drums, Chinese yoyo and Folk Dance. Afterwards, everyone will have the opportunity to try out some of the dances and folk arts.
THE 2013 SLED DOG RACES ARE CANCELED DUE TO LACK OF SNOW!
Join the New England Sled Dog Club for their 2013 Dog Sled Races at Appleton Farms! This outdoor event will be host to many dog sled teams that will race from Appleton Farms south into Hamilton and back. This is a great outdoor activity for the family to enjoy some fresh air as they witness a unique sport in a wonderful natural setting. There are many areas for spectating and these races so come early and to find the perfect spot for watching!
Discover the joy of winter and the freedom of snowshoeing! On this field outing, you'll learn snowshoeing techniques, ascending and descending hills, snow hazard awareness, and winter preparedness. Don't have snowshoes? We provide snowshoes, snowshoe poles and professional instruction on proper use of equipment, to make every trip a success.
Tour Appleton Farms in a new way: on skis! Learn about the history of Appleton Farms and the Appleton Family while enjoying a true New England winter wonderland. Warm-up in our visitor center with a hot drink and a tour of the house.
The Orchestra on the Hill will be performing at the annual Music for the Holiday in Ipswich, and Stephen Moore will direct the Festival Chorus. The show will also feature Briana Paquin, Saprano as she sings seasonal favorites and invites the audience to join in on a Holiday sing-along!
