Berlin-based contemporary artist Alicja Kwade (b.1979, Poland) has long been engaged with value systems, philosophical questions about the essence of reality, and with attempting to examine, if not resolve, issues of inherently subjective concepts such as space and time. In her sculptures, as well as installations, photographs, and films, Kwade occupies herself with the structural properties of everyday objects and questioning the veracity of matter, revealing possibilities for alternate realities, while examining social agreements and supposed truths.

At Mariana's Dancing Studio in Ipswich, MA we strive to offer a complete array of Dance styles, making the development of our students' joy and passion our first priority. Through the years, since our doors first opened in 2006, we have witnessed and experienced first-hand the impact that dance, as an art form, has on children of all ages, as well as adults.
Dancing can be compared to any sport as far as physical training is concerned: it is an excellent way to develop flexibility, strength, stamina, aerobic capacity, balance, gracefulness, and more.
Wagon Rides are new to Appleton Farms this summer! What better way than to spend a summer day on the farm. Hop aboard our hay wagon and go for a ride past our vegetable fields and out to the great pasture. Enjoy our rolling landscape, maybe spot some cows grazing and enjoy being outside! The ride will last approximately 25 minutes and starts at the Farm Store. The wagon will stop at the Barnyard on the way back for those who wish to get out and see our animals before walking back to the store.
As we greet the coming of spring we also welcome many feathered friends back to Appleton Farms! Some of our common bird friends will make their way back from the long winter away but also rare birds will make a stop on their journey up north. To get a sense of the environmental health of Appleton Farms (and Massachusetts) we want to keep track of which birds are stopping by the property. So if you have the skills to identify birds and want to play a huge role in monitoring our bird population, join us for a morning of searching for our feathered friends.

As part of ArtWeek, learn about the time honored tradition of wool felting. We’ll start by learning how to wash and “card” the raw wool into soft fiber for spinning or felting. Afterwards, we’ll try our hand at making felt balls to be used for farm-fun necklaces.
