Frances Wosmek, children’s book writer and illustrator, will be sharing one of the first books she ever wrote or published for children at the Manchester Public Library on Tuesday, January 14th, 1:30 PM for Preschool Story Time.
Manchester Public Library proudly hosts a The Pajamas of My Dreams special pajama storytime & pajama drive to benefit Cradles to Crayons. "Pajamas of My Dreams” is a beautifully illustrated book that combines the hopefulness and high aspirations of children with a mission of providing warm pajamas for all.
Teens are invited to a fun, hands-on cooking class with cookbook author Anna Tourkakis.
Participants will prepare and then enjoy a delicious and healthy dinner featuring: Greens with Black Grapes and Farmers Cheese, Vegetarian Quesadillas, and Caramelized Apple Slices with Ginger and Chocolate Drizzle.
This week's movie FRIDAY NIGHT MOVIE NIGHT at Manchester Athletic Club will feature Polar Express . Drop off the kids (ages 3 - 13 years old) for a night at the movies with pizza and juice served for dinner. Go enjoy some free time while the kids have a blast together, and pick them up tired and ready for a good night's sleep!
The Manchester Public Library Enter the World of the Wise Fool, and take an inspiring journey to Medieval times and an uproarious performance. To allow for ample space, we will be at the Chapel next door (First Parish) but return to the library for hot cider and cookies following. Kids will learn about a variety of different animals from around the world at the Manche Creature Teachers will present exotic animals up close and personal for children. Kids will learn about the diverse habitats of our planet and the animals that live there. Ages 3 and up. Sign up online at the Children's Room website or call.
Sports Performance Training is designed for athletes ages 10-18 who are seeking excellence at the next level of performance. This is an intense one-hour session focusing on mastering key athletic movement patterns which will support the development of strength, power, speed and flexibility. Most importantly, these athletes will decrease their risk for injury, and build confidence to meet the demands of their specific sport. Get strong, fit and confident for fall!
The 4th Annual - Run the Heater 5K usually starts and ends at Singing Beach but due to anticipated construction at Singing Beach this fall, we will be using a revised route this year. The Heater is the traditional route that early citizens of Manchester used to warm up their horses. This 3.1 mile route celebrates this Manchester tradition, and brings you through and around the heart of Downtown Manchester. Kids will run a separate race on the beach with medal to be given every particitipant. Other fun activities will include facepainting, live music and a fun family atmosphere.
