Spring is a time of renewal and growth. After-school activities include lending a hand with conservation work, eco-splorations, journeying as a waterdrop from land to sea, uncovering secret tales, journaling, mapping/orienteering, and hiking our forest, wetlands, and mountainsides. The Trustees of Reservations is holding a Quest Fest so people can learn all about Questing while taking a journey on their newest Cape Ann Quest! Make your own stamp, grab a Quest Detective booklet, and participate in the fastest growing family recreational adventure this side of the Atlantic. (Confused? A Quest is a clue-based treasure hunt through Agassiz Rock, discovering stories about this very special place along the way to find a Quest Treasure Box.)
On Monday, April 8, at 7 p.m. Brookwood School proudly welcomes best-selling author and University of Houston professor Dr. Brene Brown as the second speaker in the school’s annual 4 to 14 Speaker Series: Parenting Elementary School Kids.
This new yoga class at Manchester Athletic Club is designed to support Mother and Baby during pregnancy and to prepare for childbirth. Conducted in a calm and peaceful environment, you will gently stretch, strengthen and release tension from the body through yoga poses and breathing techniques.
The Manchester Athletic Club will be hosting the annual Pedal to End Cancer Fundraiser on Sunday March 3, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. along with over 60 clubs throughout New England. It is a 3-hour Indoor Cycling event with an effort to raise funds towards the American Cancer Society. We are looking for participants or donations help with this fun and inspiring event! MAC hopes to raise $50,000 at our event this year to help create more birthdays!
Make some valentine cards, a collage, and more as we use art materials to create festive February fun on the half day, February 6, 1 PM! Winter is a great time to focus on birds. They are so visible with trees foliage removed, they are so in need of feeding, and they are going to be coming to the Manchester Library as live and paper birds this month! Please register. Our second bird program will focus on the art of Origami birds with Laura Geggis, a favorite of ours, coming back with her unique paper art instruction that works both audibly and visually for so many students.
