Come to Newburyport to celebrate the return of migrating eagles back to the Merrimack River Estuary! The Mass Audubon's Joppa Flats Education Center and the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge have teamed up to bring an entire day of free events centered around the wonders of the Bald Eagles that have come to take seasonal advantage of the Merrimack River habitat.
Celebrating 15 years of serving families in the greater Newburyport area, the Greater Newburyport Families Club (GNFC) is expanding their successful Baby and Kids’ Consignment Sale series to host their first-ever “GNFC Purge & Purchase” for women and men’s clothing, shoes, and accessories on February 8 - 9 at PITA Hall on Plum Island in Newbury. The focus is on gently-used brand-name and on-trend items; no jewelry. This event is open to both members and non-members, and it is at no cost to participants.
This parent/child program is designed for the creative, curious, and active preschooler. Each 90-minute session offers a structured series of activities including original songs, movement, dramatic play, hands-on science, and a thematic snack. You'll receive coloring pages, song lyrics, vocabulary, a fun fact sheet, and a suggested reading list in an electronic goody bag! This week we'll be focusing on eagles and their annual migration to the Merrimack River estuary!
Even in the middle of winter, nature is a very busy “place!” Though you may not see them, there are an amazing variety of critters going about their business, outdoors, all winter long. What you cansee are the tracks and other sign that they leave behind.Participants in this program will become “wildlife detectives” and will look for clues that paint a picture of “who was here” and “what they were doing.”
Enjoy stories, songs, rhymes and more with Miss Diane! Join us at this story time for kids 24-36 months old and their caregivers. Siblings welcome! All story times are drop-in; however, please pick up a ticket at the desk prior to attending this program to help us prevent overcrowding.
Hosted by Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center, this fun event is a fundraiser and climb-a-thon in support of Girls Inc. of the Seacoast Area. Participants are encouraged to fundraise before the event and then come to MetroRock for a night of climbing complete with a music, pizza, ice cream, snacks and prizes! Our top fundraisers will be awarded prizes and all climbers will be entered into our prize drawing taking place at the close of the event.

From the musical performers, to the visual artists, to the beer, to the food, to the raffle prizes, and to everything else involved, Newburyport is home.
When and how does water form into ice? When and how does it melt? And what makes it melt faster or slower? We will perform fun science experiments to understand ice and snow, freezing and melting. They we'll put your science knowledge to work to make ice cream!
