Come enjoy the library, share some great food and leave knowing that the price of your meal will go to fund 2024 Emma in the Backyard Summer Programs. Enjoy a bowl of tasty soup from local restaurants, bread and homemade desserts made by Emma volunteers.
Newburyport Yankee Homecoming invites you to the Annual High School Battle of the Bands. Local High School aged bands will compete to see who rises to the top and with top winners getting cash prizes, performing live at other Yankee Homecoming Events and paid gigs for the band. Watch local student bands battle it out on the stage, and help your favorite band by voting for them!
Each month we'll discuss the first volume of a manga series while we enjoy crafts, games, and snacks! Stop by the teen loft to borrow a copy of this month's manga. Golfers of all abilities come out for a best ball scramble in support of public education at the Annual NEF Open Golf Tournament. Dinner, auction and raffle follow a great day on the links. The Annual NEF Open will be at Wentworth By The Sea Country Club in Rye, NH. Ticket price includes box lunch and dinner.
The Annual Yankee Homecoming parade is a Traditional New England Parade that is sure to please! There will be a variety of entertaining floats and marchers. Yankee Homecoming and the people of Newburyport all come together to watch a parade on the first Sunday in August. The streets lined with families, friends, and visitors have made this parade a long time favorite summer tradition.
Join Parker River Staff for the week of February Vacation (Feb. 20-23) for our youth drop off program 9:00am - 11:30am. Participants will learn about the the wonderful wildlife that call Parker River home in the winter, including adaptations for survival, animal evidence, and winter habitats. Program includes in-class and outside learning.
The Newburyport Public Library is hosting a beaded jewelry crafting session.Drop in to do some beading! Make a bracelet, necklace, or other accessory. No registration necessary. This program is open to kids of all ages and abilities, but caregivers should be aware that there will be small pieces in the room.
During Eagle Festival Week, join North Shore Field Teachers at a popular viewing area to spot Bald Eagles along the Merrimack River and learn about behaviors such as soaring, fishing, and showing courtship displays. Using sound effects, props, and group role play, you'll stay active and warm outdoors as you and your family learn together. Three date and time choices!
This popular annual event features a magic show, snacks for kids and adults, and a kids book sale. The magic show will begin in the Program Room at 1:30pm and will be followed by snacks in the lobby and the book sale from 2-3pm.
When winter returns to the lower Merrimack Valley, so do Bald Eagles and Snowy Owls and other exciting winter wildlife. Every year Mass Audubon hosts a grand event marking their return.
