Meet children's author April Jones Prince as she reads from her book, What Do Wheels Do All Day? [Illustrated by Giles LaRoche]. Free and open to the public, this program is designed for toddlers through age six and their caregivers. Get your young hockey or figure skater off to a great start and sign up today for the next learn to skate session at the Peabody Rink - the McVann-O'Keefe Memorial Skating Rink. Adult classes are available too. Learn to skate lessons for all ages and abilities offered at the newly renovated facility.

Several sessions are offered so that the skaters have an opportunity to progress through many skating levels while strengthening their skills.

Boston Ballet Children’s Program Visit

Boston Balley School Summer Programs for Children

The Children’s Program will visit the Peabody Institute Library to present a ballet story on April 12 at 10:00am. This year’s ballet is a child-friendly version of Don Quixote. After the story has been read, children in attendance will able to view Boston Ballet costumes, pointe shoes, and tiaras. The event will end with a dance lesson from Boston Ballet School staff to music excerpts from the Don Quixote score. This is a free event that is open to the public.

Peabody Memorial Day Parade

8:30 a.m., VFW bus will leave for Cedar Grove Cemetery where parade will form and march into the cemetery for services at Veterans Memorial Park, then to Cedar Grove for memorial service.
 

10:30 a.m., Parade begins on Washington Street, proceeds to Allen's Lane, then to Wheeler, Hingston and Hourihan streets and ends at City Hall, where there will be a wreath-laying ceremony in front of the World War I, World War II, Korean and Vietnam war monuments. The parade marches back to the VFW where a collation will be held.
