On Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 1:00 p.m., parents of students entering grades Pre-K through Eight are invited to Brookwood School's Open House to learn about the exceptional education the school offers.
The program will feature:
School tours and classroom visits including tours of the New Lower School Building and remarks by Head of School Laura Caron; Q&A session with Grade 8 students; Opportunities for conversations with Faculty and Division Heads. Children's activities are available during the program.
"At Brookwood, we know that what matters most is a child who is happily engaged in his or her learning and a student who is intellectually challenged, supported, and encouraged by teachers and peers alike," says Brookwood Head of School John Peterman. "Over the course of Brookwood's 55-plus year history we've learned that a confident child is a successful learner and successful learners are successful in life. And we know this is a question of balance -- balancing rigor with compassion, excellence with exuberance, and self-discovery with sensitivity to others."
In 2012, Brookwood embarked on an exciting new strategic plan. From global interconnectedness, including partnerships and alliances with world-class universities and organizations, to improvements to athletic fields, and reconfigured learning spaces in our Lower School, Brookwood is poised to bring today’s students to their tomorrows.
“When the world is changing at a pace faster than any one mind or organization can match, educational enterprises must prepare students for a world they must imagine, but cannot possibly know,” says Peterman.
