Marine Mammals and Sock Seals
Maritime Gloucester invites kids in pre-k through first grade to a vacation week session about seals and marine mammals - part of a week full of educational sessions during April vacation! What kinds of mammals live in the ocean? How long can a whale hold its breath? We'll learn all about marine mammals and how they live in their ocean habitats.
We'll look at how people use the power of wind and learn about the Japanese art of fish windsocks — traditional carp streamers that use the wind to "swim" through the air. Using fish field guides and fish models as inspiration, kids will make their own colorful fish windsocks to take home.
- For kids in Pre-k through 1st Grade
- Attendees must be accompanied by a parent/guardian
