The New Works Festival 2012

The Firehouse Center for the Arts presents the 10th Annual New Works Festival

Firehouse Center for the Arts is excited to host their 10th annual New Works Festival!  This four day festival is a production based on the results of a competition between local New England writers and playwrights. Community members can gain an insight into the writing experience by coming to the festival to watch each submitted work performed. The .

The 2012 New Works Festival will be showcasing full-length plays as staged readings, and memorized ten-minute and one-act plays. The winners were chosen and the following pieces will be performed during the festival:

  • Full length play: "The Book of Snow" by Josh Faigen
  • Ten minute play: "Estrangers in the Night" by Jay MacNamee
  • One act play: "Surface" by Leslie Pasterneck

In addition to the winning entries, the Festival will introduce "The Sixty Second Play", a one minute play with no more than four characters.  Previous festival winners will submit the entries for this new concept!
