Solstice Stones Stroll at Ward Reservation

Holt Hill at Ward Reservation is marked with Solstice Stones. Come celebrate the Solstice witht hte Trustees of Reservations!

Join the The Trustees of Reservations as they light up the night with a Solstice Stroll at Ward Reservation! We will meet in the parking lot for a candlelit stroll through the woods that will include presented passages from the story "The Shortest Day".  The Stroll ends with a gathering around the solstice stones at the heigh of Holt Hill. At an elevation of 420 feet above sea level, Holt Hill is the highest point in Essex County and offers views of the Boston skyline and even the Blue Hills. This solstice stones' compass-like arrangement of stones indicates the cardinal points on the compass, the points of the summer and winter solstices, and the points of the spring and autumnal equinoxes. Here, participants can warm up by a fire and enjoy hot chocolate and s'mores as we welcome the new season under the stars and marvel at the exquisite talents of fire performer Terez Lowry. Pre-registration is encouraged.
