WE = NBPT hosts their 3rd annual Winter Festival inside the heated tent at the The Tannery Marketplace in downtown Newburyport, Massachusetts! As always, this event will be showcasing all things that are created by the good people of Newburyport, MA! From the musical performers, to the visual artists, to the beer, to the food, to the raffle prizes, and to everything else involved, Newburyport is home.

Young artists ages 6–14 are welcome. About: Developed by artist and educator Dawn Southworth, Annisquam Arts has been a summer haven for creativity and fun for over 20 years! All workshops are taught in Dawn's professional home studio on Goose Cove, with access to Gloucester’s many cultural offerings and Cape Ann’s most scenic spots. Excursions, beach days, and group activities give students plenty of time to socialize and be outdoors. Projects are designed to encourage imagination and to support individual creative expression––students have a blast learning a range of artistic techniques with the highest quality materials. Small class sizes and individual instruction serve and nurture all levels of ability. At the end of each week, students go home with an impressive portfolio and a memory bank full of fun experiences to share with their families! A Mindful Nature Experience incorporates elements of mindfulness, forest bathing, ayurveda, and yoga to connect mind and body in community with the outdoors, reinvigorate your senses, and deeply immerse you in the healing power of nature. As a family, awaken your bodies with easy, flowing exercises, and use mindful breathing techniques to connect with and offer gratitude for the natural world. Walk with awareness to immerse deeply in nature, explore your senses using various sensory techniques that awaken curiosity, and find your own personal sit spot to meditate as one with nature.

The maple sugaring jamboree is a chance for scouts to earn a maple sugaring badge at the Ipwich River Wildlife Sanctuary
Bring your troop and the whole family to meet our maple trees, tour the sugarhouse, try a taste of our sweet syrup, and participate in winter games and activities. Try your hand at using real sugaring tools at the tree-tapping station, warm up and toast marshmallows by the campfire, and participate in a snow creature building contest where the winner gets a free bottle of syrup! Our dress-like-a-lumberjack photo booth can capture your sweet memories and each scout will go home with a special maple sugaring jamboree badge.

If it ever snows, this will be a great exploration of IRWS on snowshoes!
Have you ever wanted to try snowshoeing but didn't know where to start? Join us for a leisurely snowshoe hike through the sanctuary. Along the way, we will search for animal tracks and keep our eyes open for wildlife. If you don't own snowshoes, we'll provide them for you. Snow or not, we will enjoy a wonderful winter hike and end with some hot chocolate to warm up!

Calling all LEGO lovers! Join us on Wednesday, Februrary 19th during school vacation for an exciting LEGO Friendship "Make & Take" event co-hosted by Essex Heritage and the National Park Service! Participants will have the chance to make and take home their very own lighthouse keeper minifigure and mini Bakers Island Light. Space is limited, so reservations are required. Come celebrate the maritime heritage of Salem through the art of LEGO building!
