Local High School aged bands will compete to see who rises to the top and with top winners getting cash prizes, performing live at other Yankee Homecoming Events and paid gigs for the band. This years' goal is to collect 10,000 pairs of pajamas. The Annual Yankee Homecoming parade is a Traditional New England Parade that is sure to please! There will be a variety of entertaining floats and marchers. Yankee Homecoming and the people of Newburyport all come together to watch a parade on the first Sunday in August. The streets lined with families, friends, and visitors have made this parade a long time favorite summer tradition.

The warm days of late winter awaken the flow of sap in the maples resulting in sweet-smelling, billowing clouds of steam rising from the sugarhouse. On a naturalist-guided walk, learn how to identify a sugar maple, observe tapping and sap collection methods, watch the sap being boiled down in the sugarhouse, and get a sweet taste of the final product.
