Ipswich Public Library invites kids and families to kick off the Summer Reading program with Otha Day's Drum to the Beat! The library is hosting a live interactive musical session on the lawn of the Hall Haskell House at 36 S. Main Street. The summer theme is Find Your Voice, and the Children's Room at Ipswich Public Library has planned an amazing drumming program to start off Summer Reading. This program promises lots of audience participation and is designed as a family event for children and the young at heart.
Otha Day, a renowned musician, leads fun and lively drum circle events that foster community building, well-being promotion, and joy creation. Otha emphasizes the significance of rhythm in every aspect of life, recognizing that our heartbeat and breath serve as the rhythm of our soul and connect us to each other.
- Participants may park in the Ascension Memorial Church lot on County Street
- In the event of rain, the program will be relocated indoors to the Ipswich Winthrop School at 65 Central Street.
This event has been made possible in part with funding from the Ipswich Cultural Council and the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Additionally, the Friends of the Ipswich Public Library have shown their support.
