Don your wings, grab your crowns or cloaks and come say farewell to our garden season with this celebration of the Flower Fairies and Elves that keep our gardens in bloom all summer long. Borrow a bag to collect natural materials and then build a magical home on the grounds for these beloved creatures. Stop by our craft table and create your very own wand, the single most important tool a fairy or elf can own! Enjoy storytimes starting every half hour that explore fantasy and the magical realm of nature and end the day by leaving a letter of well wishes at the fairy post office.
Join The Trustees of Reservations at the Stevens-Coolidge Place for a Pumpkin Trail for a magical treat! You will be led along our pumpkin-lit garden trail where local nocturnal woodland creatures will emerge to share their stories and educate families in a fun and unique way. This is a non-scary event for all ages! Tours will be leaving every 10 minutes. Costumes welcomed! Reservations encouraged.
End the summer with a bang at this exciting outdoor concert at The Stevens-Coolidge Place in collaboration with Crossroads Music Series! Enjoy a meal and drink from our food, hard cider and beer vendors as you listen to the "hits you've never heard of" from the band, The Country Hits, followed by Cuban Roots, Rock & Reggae Fusion band, Los Sugar Kings. This is a full day of family fun and music with a festival vibe, sure to bring you back to those carefree summer days and get your feet moving.
Join the The Trustees of Reservations at the Stevens-Coolidge Estate, cut your own flowers at our Flower Fields Cutting Garden and then use them to create a beautiful flower crown. We will have all the supplies and instructions you need to learn how to make a beautiful floral crown of your own design. Participants of all ages encouraged to attend!
Join us among the flowers to hear a story, make a craft, and explore the gardens with your pre-schoolers and early elementary students. Each week, a new theme will tie together stories with accompanying activities that will enliven imaginations and deepen connections to the natural world.
Join the The Trustees of Reservations and get outside with your family this Father’s Day and celebrate Dad at the Father’s Day Bluegrass Bash at The Stevens-Coolidge Place. There will be a bluegrass band (Damn Tall Buildings - read below about band) for all to enjoy from 5-7PM. The Ipswich Ale Beer Truck will be on site to indulge in some Fathers Day drinks. Food will also be available to purchase to have a wonderful Fathers Day dinner in a beautiful setting while listening to music. Lawn games will be set up around the grounds, such as bocce, badminton and bean bag toss. Bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets and make this the best Fathers Day ever!
Let’s discover what lives in our tranquil New England ponds by exploring Stearns Pond. Harold Parker has 11 ponds, 9 of which were created by the CCC. Learn their function and importance. Wear appropriate hiking shoes. It is recommended that you bring water, insect repellent and sun screen. Appropriate for all ages, must be able to walk several miles. Meet at Campground Nature Center - - There are numerous bird species that make Harold Parker their home. Join the park interpreter for an easy walk on the park’s trails while identifying birds by sight and sound. Appropriate for all ages. Bring binoculars if you have them.
