Meet at Frye Pond Beach - Fish, frogs, snakes, and salamanders, let’s discover what lives in our tranquil New England ponds! Nets and buckets are provided. This activity can be wet and muddy. Recommend bringing water, insect repellent, sun screen, binoculars and camera. Appropriate for all ages.
It’s summertime and our neighborhood birds are busy eating insects, building nests and soaring through the sky. Join us in the Stevens-Coolidge Place gardens with your budding birders for a mid-morning story time, craft and adventure.
Let’s discover what lives in our tranquil New England ponds by exploring Stearns Pond. Harold Parker has 11 ponds, 9 of which were created by the CCC. An easy to moderate guided hike to one of our many ponds, a different one each week (Harold Parker has 11 ponds, 9 of which were created by the CCC). A great way to learn about the parks history and resources while getting some exercise. For ages 6 and up.
When school is closed, Taste Buds Kitchen is open! A new and unique menu is offered each week. Register for a few weeks or even a single day.
Every day kids make two to three recipes – always one savory and one sweet – while whipping up batches of fun. Younger chefs focus on the basics along with kitchen games while the older camps tackle advanced techniques and culinary challenges. Professional Culinary Instructors and Kid Experts lead the way for a camp your budding chef won’t soon forget! A TBK apron is included for each full-week camper as well as flexible drop-off from 8:30-9:00am for a small fee.
Join the Trustees on a hike up Weir Hill in North Andover in search of wild blueberries! Children and their caregivers are invited to take a stroll through Weir Hill and celebrate blueberry season with a story time of the classic children’s book, Blueberries for Sal by Robert McCloskey. With lowbush blueberries abound, participants will feel like they have joined Sal on her adventure on Blueberry Hill. “Kuplink, kuplank, kuplunk!”
Kick off the Independence Day Festival and Fireworks Celebration in North Andover with family activities and fireworks.
The festival will include annual favorites:
- The Doll Carriage and Bike Parade
- Pie Eating Contest. Kids & Adults
- Music on the stage

Have you ever wondered about the moths attracted to your porch light? What are they called, what do they eat, why are they attracted to light and where do they go when the summer ends? Join independent researcher Deb Lievens for an illustrated talk about moths inside The Stevens-Coolidge historic house, followed by moth viewing in the gardens at night. Several "viewing stations" with black lights will be setup prior to the talk so that upon its conclusion, we'll have plenty of specimens to view under expert supervision.
Join The Trustees of Reservations at the Stevens Coolidge Place for a a fun afternoon of Teddy Bears and Tea! There will be a storytime and picnic at the teddy bear garden. We will begin with crafts, bubbles and a Bear Scavenger Hunt, followed by a storytime at 2PM and a picnic with light refreshments provided. Stuffed animal best friends encouraged to attend! Our friends at the Andover Bear Company will also be in attendance to fulfill all your teddy bear needs.
