MFA + Highland Street = Free Fun Friday

The Highland Street Foundation’s Free Fun Fridays program will offer free admission to the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA), on Friday, August 3, 2012. Visitors can explore the MFA’s exhibitions and galleries, watch short films, tour Museum collections, and participate in family activities.
Some of the activities for the day include:
Half Moon Beach
Located in Stage Fort Park, this small beach overlooks outer Gloucester Harbor, and is shaded in the afternoon. Plenty of picnic tables and a large playground nearby with a pirate ship, lighthouse, a big wooden monster truck and a rock climbing wall.
Ice cream, drinks, fries and great meals are available at the nearby Cupboard Restaurant.
Niles Beach
Niles Beach is located on East Main Street in Gloucester and is situated just before the entrance to Eastern Point. Parking is limited here but if you find a parking spot or a resident with a beach sticker, this is an easy access, great little family beach that is raked and kept very clean by the city.
