Children's Book Week 2011

Children's Book Week 2011 North Shore Kids and Families

Children's Book Week is the national celebration of books and reading for youth. Since 1919, Children's Book Week has been celebrated countrywide with author & illustrator appearances, parties, storytelling, and other book-related events in schools, libraries, bookstores, clubs -- anywhere where kids and books connect.

The Children's Book Council (CBC) in association with Every Child A Reader, the CBC Foundation, hosts the annual Children's Choice Book Awards Program with the announcement of 30 finalists in six categories. As the only national book contest in which the prize winners are kid-chosen, this year's list of finalists represent the preferences of over 16,000 children and teens. Winners will be announced as part of Children’s Book Week (May 2-8, 2011).
