In Manchester, legion members and parade participants will assemble Monday at 8:30 a.m. at the Amaral-Bailey Post 113 for a brief seaside service. Wreaths and flowers will be dropped into the harbor in remembrance of those lost at sea. The parade then will move on to the Pleasant Grove Cemetery to salute fallen armed-forces personnel.
At 10 a.m., the group will move on to Rosedale Cemetery for the main memorial service. The gathering will hear a recitation of the Gettsyburg Address, a wreath laying and a salute to fallen comrades will take place.
The parade will conitnue to the Legion for the Memorial Day Service and a reading of In Flanders Fields. Following the ceremony the parade will proceed to Hinckley Park for a gun salute, Taps and wreath laying, then on to Union Cemetary for Taps and another gun salute.
The parade stops at the 1661 Cemetery for more protocol, then ends at the American Legion with the National Anthem and the raising of the flag.
In case of rain, all events will be held at the Legion Hall starting at 9 a.m.
