Kestrel Educational Adventures

Kestrel Educational Adventures (KEA) was founded in 2002, working with two schools in Gloucester. Based in Gloucester, Massachusetts, Kestrel Educational Adventures is a member-supported nonprofit charitable organization specializing in nature education. We serve the communities of Gloucester, Rockport, Manchester, Essex, Beverly and Salem, among others. Kestrel's educational programs foster a sense of wonder, understanding and connection to the natural world through playful, outdoor, scientific inquiry.

Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary

Ipswich River, Mass Audubon’s largest sanctuary, offers more than 10 miles of interconnecting trails that invite you to explore the forests, meadows, and wetlands. Canoe along eight miles of the Ipswich River that run through the sanctuary and camp on Perkins Island, located a half-mile up the river (members can rent canoes from May through October).

Note: This sanctuary is closed on Mondays!

The ERICA LEE is available for nine-hour deep sea fishing trips to Jeffreys Ledge, May to October, for up to 16 anglers. We leave the dock early in the morning, usually at 7 a.m. (Earlier departures may be arranged.) The $1100 fee for the 2012 season reserves the whole boat. We will provide rods, bait and tackle, and fish cleaning. Gratuity of 15-20% for the mates appreciated. A $500 depositis required within two weeks of making a reservation. You bring your own food and beverages.
