Waterfront Concert: Compaq Big Band

The Yankee Homecoming Waterfront Concert Series invites you to hear some waterfront Big Band Music! COMPAQ BIG BAND is an experienced, professional, authentic 20-piece big band that has a wide range of big band classics at their fingertips. They’ve kept New England swingin’ since 1975, with a big band repertoire that begins with honoring the classics from the 30s and 40s as performed by the bands of Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and other greats.

Compaq Big Band balances instrumental charts and horn features with vocal numbers such as those popularized by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Bobby Darin, Frankie Randall, Nancy Wilson, Diane Schuur, and many more.

All Waterfront Concerts are partially sponsored and FREE to our guests. We will, however, be passing among you to ask for donations to help defray the very high cost of these wonderful bands, sound, lighting, staging, and upkeep of our beautiful park, which the Newburyport Waterfront Trust has so graciously allowed us to use.
