The Open Door invites you to bowl painting session at the Essex Shipbuilding Museum! Bring the kids to come paint bowls for the annual Open Door Empty Bowl Circus in May where painted bowls will be auctioned off to the highest bidder!

The Purple Heart Trail 10K and Fun Run will be held the weekend after Veterans Day on Sunday, November 14, 2021. In honor of all our military past and present the 10K route is from the Patton Homestead to Patton Park (and back). The midway point loops around the Sherman tank in Patton Park.

The Open Door and the Ipswich Lions Club team up to host an evening of food and hospitality. This is a simple meal of a bowl of soup — donated by local businesses — bread and a cookie. The bowl going home will be empty as a reminder than someone somewhere is going hungry.
Hosted by Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center, this fun event is a fundraiser and climb-a-thon in support of Girls Inc. of the Seacoast Area. Participants are encouraged to fundraise before the event and then come to MetroRock for a night of climbing complete with a music, pizza, ice cream, snacks and prizes! Our top fundraisers will be awarded prizes and all climbers will be entered into our prize drawing taking place at the close of the event.

Come sample foods from around the world and, at the same time, support a great cause: building homes for deserving families. The food fair has become a highly anticipated and exciting event in the community. There are a number of local churches and organizations that partner with The First Church to make this a continued success.
