The Phillips Academy Department of Music will present the Academy Chorus, Fidelio Society, and Chamber Orchestra in concert under the direction of Dr. Abbey H. Siegfried. Entitled “The Road Less Traveled,” this concert offers an assortment of American and Portuguese songs.
the Chamber Orchestras of Phillips Academy will present a concert in Cochran Chapel on the Phillips Academy campus. The Amadeus Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Elizabeth Aureden and Christina Landolt, will perform Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “Charterhouse Suite,” a suite of dances in the English style originally written for piano but orchestrated by James Brown in collaboration with the composer.
The Cabot Theatre in Beverly welcomes Vanessa Trien and the Jumping Monkeys as part of their Family Series concerts. Vanessa Trien has been performing music for kids and families since 2005, many of those years in collaboration with her lively folk/roots/pop band, the Jumping Monkeys. She has three Parents' Choice award-winning CDs for kids and families and is currently working on her fourth album, due out this winter. Vanessa packs concert halls, preschool fundraisers and outdoor venues with dancing kids and families.

Northeast Massachusetts Youth Orchestras (NMYO) present a free community concert at the Shalin Liu Performance Center in Rockport! Featuring NMYO’s top musicians all of whom demonstrate a high level of skill and musicianship, this special concert will include music from some of the great masters of the chamber music genre in addition to more contemporary composers. A reception will follow the concert.

Musicians Mike and Beverly Rogers will be at the Manchester Public Library on Saturday, January 26th, 11 AM with a Harmonica Workshop for adults and children ages 8 and older. Everyone attending will not only hear the harmonica stylings of this musical duo, but will receive a harmonica lesson at the workshop to get you started with your very own harmonica to take home!
