Book Nook is a weekly story time program for all children and families, ages infant through school age. Come and listen to stories, play games, sing songs, play with toys and build relationships with other families! Enjoying time in the Book Nook is a great way to startyour Saturday. Online registration is requested, but not required. Come to all, or come to some.
Musicians Mike and Beverly Rogers will be at the Manchester Public Library on Saturday, January 26th, 11 AM with a Harmonica Workshop for adults and children ages 8 and older. Everyone attending will not only hear the harmonica stylings of this musical duo, but will receive a harmonica lesson at the workshop to get you started with your very own harmonica to take home!

For three years, Andrew Paxton has slaved as the assistant to Margaret Tate, hard-driving editor at a New York publisher. When Margaret, a Canadian, faces deportation for an expired visa, she hatches a scheme to marry Andrew. Andrew had plans to fly home for the weekend for his grandma's 90th, so Margaret goes with him - to Sitka, Alaska. Tensions between dad and Andrew, an ex-girlfriend, Andrew's dislike of Margaret, and her past, color the next few days, with the INS ready to charge Andrew with fraud and deport Margaret. This is a great opportunity for dads (uncles, grandfathers, cousins or other father figures) to spend time with their kids! Come to the Sawyer Free with the kids for a storytime filled with songs, stories,snacks and fun! Great for kids aged 2-6 (siblings are welcome). Moms and siblings welcome to attend.
Spend some time with your child reading with Reading Buddy, Zyla the Therapy Dog. Zyla is a beautiful and gentle collie who loves stories of all kinds, so come read to her. These sessions are great for building reading skills and helping readers of all levels gain confidence.
Play Minecraft with other children grades 1-5 (ages 6 and up) Learn new tricks from each other and explore and build in a world together. This group is for children in grades 1 and up. Due to our child safety policy, at least one parent per session will need to volunteer to stay in the room the entire time of the program, from 3:30-4:30. Please register for just one session per month. If registration is full, please sign up on the wait list and we will schedule you soon!
For Kids in Grades 6-12: Test your smarts against other teens about books, movies, pop culture, and much more. Join us in the Program Room for this free event! Please contact Emely, Teen Services Librarian, with questions.
Just what it sounds like! Stop by, relax, and have a snack. We’ll put out coloring sheets and bookmarks as well as some tasty cookies. Kids of all ages and abilities welcome. Drop-in.
