Sledding is a great way to kill an afternoon on snowy days, have some fun with the family and get some outdoor winter exercise. I loved sledding as a kid, but now when I see 'B' pretending to have 'accidents' on the sledding hill we made in our front yard, I cringe to think of the possible dangers involved in sledding. Wiping out is fun, until somebody gets hurt.

Kids pre-k through grade 5 will love the February Vacation programs at Maritime
Maritime Gloucester has planned plenty of fun programs for kids during the February Vacation 2015. The programs are geared towards learning about life in the sea from the smallest plankton right up to the largest predators! Sessions are broken into two groups, younger kids (pre-K through first grade) will attend morning sessions, and older kids (grades 2-5) are invited to sessions in the afternoon followed by an optional FREE movie about the sessions subject matter. Each session will cover a specific subject, which is reinforced with hands-on craft and activities.

Kids will hone their  observation skills as they locate and learn about winter animals and tap a sugar maple tree to make syrup.
