Learn about the Folly Cove Designers' process, then get to work in the Children's Activity Center. Explore the Folly Cove Designs, create prints using stamps, foam shapes and styrofoam. Also, examine a linoleum block and tools similar to those used by the original Designers. This drop-in program is free for members and Cape Ann residents or with Museum admission. Celebrate local author, illustrator and artist Virginia Lee Burton with story time, playing and art making in the Children's Activity Center. Burton authored and illustrated some of the most memorable books ever written for children, and won the 1942 Caldecott Medal for [amazon 0395181569 inline].
Enjoy the spirit of the season and take home the fragrance of the forest. We will read [amazon:978-0060281892:inline] by Margaret Wise Brown. Then we will visit the forest to identify a variety of evergreens by their shape, needles, cones, and fragrance.
Young visitors are invited to join CAM staff and special guests for story time in the gallery. Offered in conjunction with the special exhibitions The Little House: Her Story and Once Upon a Contest: Selections from Cape Ann Reads. Free and open to the public. Enjoy stories, songs, rhymes and more with Miss Diane! Join us at this story time for kids 24-36 months old and their caregivers. Siblings welcome! All story times are drop-in; however, please pick up a ticket at the desk prior to attending this program to help us prevent overcrowding.

Spend some time with your child reading with Reading Buddy, Zyla the Therapy Dog. Zyla is a beautiful and gentle collie who loves stories of all kinds, so come read to her. These sessions are great for building reading skills and helping readers of all levels gain confidence.
