Join Scrooge on the Salem Trolley as you ride through Salem Massachusetts in this rolling production performed by the Griffen Theater . Now entering into it's 26th Season, this humorous & whimsical interactive performance reanimates Dickens’ timeless seasonal holiday classic!
Making stops at some of Salem's (and Massachusetts') most historical places, the setting becomes the stage for an abridged version of Dickens' classic with a twist of humor. Scrooge spends his time on the trolley between locations transforming his own character from a bitter old miser that berates the trolley passengers (with humor) into a jolly, joyful man filled with Christmas Joy.
Much of the performance follows the Christmas Carol story line, but there is a lot of improvised material that relies on the cast's ability to get the audience to reveal information about themselves. The approach of connecting the audience directly with the cast produces a highly interactive and unique experience. No two performances are exactly the same.
Tickets are available online, by phone or in person at the Salem Trolley office. This is a very popular local event, so be sure to get your tickets before they sell out!
