Crafternoon at Ipswich Library

Crafternoons at Ipswich Massachusetts Public Library North Shore Kid

A Drop-In Craft program held once a month on a Thursday afternoon (check the online calendar or pick up a calendar in the Children’s Room). Intended for school age children with intricate and challenging crafts. Each child under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver to actively assist with the craft. Programs are under the Event Tent on the lawn of the library.  Inclement weather may require the programs to be held inside in the Collins Room.

Ukrainian Egg Workshop at NTL (Saturday)

Ukrainian Egg Workshop at the Newbury Town Library

The NTL's own Kati Bourque will present a brief history on Ukrainian Easter Eggs and teach you how to create your own egg. All materials will be provided and you will go home with an egg that you made! This program is geared towards teens and adults, as you will be handling a raw egg, a lit candle, and permanent dyes. Please register online to save your spot - space is limited.

Nature Walks for Tots: Spring is on its Way!

Come see the signs of emerging Spring at Moseley Woods in Newburyport

As warmer temperatures tell us spring is coming, Miss Lisa wants you to join her for some family friendly nature walks. Let's explore the woods, the salt marsh, and the streams to look for creatures like birds, fish, frogs, and more while we learn, play, and explore. We'll use our "science eyes" and "nature ears" and discover wildife together!

Halloween Family Fun Free-for-All

Dress up the Kids and head over to Joppa Flats Education Center for Halloween

Get into the Halloween spirit! Examine live creepy crawlies, enjoy (semi) spooky attractions, and take home creative crafts. For ages 7 and up, explore a “crime scene” and perform a series of forensic investigations (e.g., soil sample comparisons, water sampling, chromatography, pH tests, and track identification) to solve the mystery and pinpoint the culprit. For ages 2 to 6, there will be stories and songs, silly and festive crafts, and a kooky treasure hunt. Family presentations will be offered at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Fly in on your broom for an hour or stay all day for some fun pre-Halloween family time!

Military History Day

Kids and adults alike will learn a lot about military history at Wenham Museum

Salute the United States Armed Forces at the Wenham Museum’s Military History Day. Uniformed members of the Living History Association will be on the museum’s lawn available to answer questions, show memorabilia from the Civil War through WWII, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the beginning of WWI and help you explore inside antique military vehicles.

Splish Splash Science is an active, fun, program where you and your child will learn all about water properties such as sinking, floating, surface tension, buoyancy, and waterproofing. Using fun props and lots of hands on science, we’ll look at everything from ducks to scuba divers and how water works!
