The Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce presents its second annual Oktoberfest! This fun, family friendly event will feature traditional German food, music and craft beers in the beer tent! There will be games and activities for all ages! Bring the family for a great day of fun, froth and food all set at the picturesque Cashman Park in a beautiful fall foliage setting.

If so, then this is the class for you! We'll use collage and various materials to make seasonal representations of nature's beauty. Our art teacher inspires students to create "wow" works of art and helps them discover, in surprising and wonderful ways, all the things they don't know that they actually do know and can do. This week we will study late afternoons.

Teens in grades 7-12: Need something to do after your half day of school? Celebrate your freedom to read and watch whatever you want at Scandalous Cinema, our Banned Books Week Film Screening for Teens. We will be showing a classic movie about a boy wizard with a lightning scar (can you guess which one?!). This event will take place in the Program Room from 12:00-3:30 pm. Pizza will be provided!
Our afternoon starts off with self-guided activities, challenges, or puzzles that lead us to our topic for the day. As a group, we'll observe, investigate, and compare wildlife, their adaptations, and the changes that they undergo in autumn. Participants may play the role of entomologist, ornithologist, astronomer, or even glaciologist throughout this series. Each experience will leave your young naturalist eager for the next session.

Turn your boring old plain t-shirts into fun Fall fashions! Teens in grades 7-12 are welcome to stop by the Children's Activity Room for snacks and DIY t-shirt crafts. The library will provide some shirts but you're welcome to bring your own.
