The Topsfield Fair is a perennial favorite for us. We're not the biggest fans of the midway, although it is always worth a walkthrough and a ride or two. We love fruits and vegetables, and are always on the lookout for the winning 'biggest pumpkin'. Another favorite is checking out the pigs and other farm animals, as well as the interesting variety of guinea pigs and rabbits.
The Salem Farmers' Market brings fresh local produce and other foods from North Shore farms and other local resources to downtown Salem every Thursday at Bentley Academy Charter School! The 38th Annual Essex ClamFest is back! Although the highlight of the day is the Chowder Tasting Competition - come taste Cape Ann’s finest chowders- there is a great variety of activities, including arts and crafts vendors, live entertainment and plenty of food vendors on-site! The Newburyport Choclate Tour invites chocolate lovers to savor fine chocolate and goodies throughout downtown Newburyport and the Tannery. The Chocolate Tour motto, "Eat Chocolate. Be Happy. Do Good.", sums up this delicious tour as 100% of net proceeds are donated to local non-profit organizations. This year's proceeds go to: Prescription Refill Program for Elders, MSPCA at Nevins Farm Animal Shelter, Beacon Coalition (youth suicide prevention) and Theater in the Open.
Team Haverhill's River Ruckus is an annual city-wide festival celebrating the natural resources and beauty of the Merrimack River and the economic and cultural revitalization of the City of Haverhill, MA. Presented by Team Haverhill, a community-based volunteer organization, the festival attracts over 5,000 visitors and residents for a day of family activities including a Classic Car show, live music produced by 92.5 The River, children's activities in the Kids Zone, food from local restaurants, an art exhibition, a crafts show, and spectacular fireworks over the mighty Merrimack River! THRR takes place in the Haverhill Riverfront Cultural District on Washington Street and the RiverWalk.
