Daisy Nell and Captain Stan visit the library to introduce Daisy’s new book [amazon 978-0615455075 inline] and lead a sing-along. Daisy Nell, native of Essex, MA, brings alive New England’s maritime history through traditional songs of the sea. A familiar voice on the North Shore music scene, she is known for her broad repertoire of traditional folk, chanteys, and contemporary songs. Her husband, Capt. Stan, adds his guitar and dobro to Daisy's banjo and guitar.

Bring your toddler to enjoy story time and looking activities in the galleries, followed by art making. Tours leave on a rolling basis starting at 10:15 am. The last tour leaves at 10:55 am. Each month focuses on a specific theme, join us in October for “Fall on the Farm.” Recommended for children ages 4 and younger with adults. No registration required.

You’re invited to learn more about what goes on behind the scenes at the Addison Gallery of American Art and how exhibitions come together through demonstrations and hands-on activities. Those of all ages are welcome, and children must be accompanied by an adult. This event is free and open to the public.
