Lynn Woods - The South Side Lynn Woods is one of the largest municipal forests in the United States at 2,200 acres. Walden Pond (not Thoreau’s) divides the park into northern and southern sections. In this walk we’ll explore the older, south side of the park following mostly wide Ox paths.

Join the Friends of the Lynn Woods on this Trails & Sails walk through to Dungeon Rock to Stone Tower. Lynn Woods Reservation is the second largest municipal park in the greater Boston area. Visitors will have the opportunity to see these sites while walking in a beautiful urban forest, great for first time visitors and others who want to enjoy this historic park. Walk is on wide paths with plenty of room for enjoyment and does not require any previous hiking experience, good for all ages including children.

Come to Lynn for some spoooktacular fun in Central Square! Lynn Arts, Inc. will have their annual FREE Haunted House, with goody bags for those brave enough to enter! There will be art activities for the kids (while supplies last) hosted by EXTRAS for Creative Learning in Lynn Museum and Historical Society.
Come to Lynn to celebrate the start of the Holiday Season with a tree lighting in Central Square, Santa's arrival, an art craft for the kids and live holiday music performances. We will meet at the Great Woods parking lot entrance to Lynn Woods and hike a loop trail around watershed land on the north side of Walden Pond. Hike is about 3.5 miles and should take about 2 hours. Dogs (on leash) and Children welcome. Please be able to keep up a 2 mph pace (usually not a problem for children). This is a moderate difficulty hike with some steep sections. Rain date Saturday 10/30 at the same time and place.
