Kids Night on the Commons
NEW THIS YEAR the Salem YMCA is joining forces with the Salem Education Foundation to transform the Salem Common into a paradise for children with moon bounces, rides, games, and arts and crafts. Some new additions are learning how to write your name in a different language, learning how to drum, bilingual storytelling, and special performances throughout the evening.

Bound for Butterflies
Join the park interpreter and special guest Russ Hopping on a walk to view and identify various butterfly species at Maudslay. Russ is an active member of the Massachusetts Butterfly Club and enjoys sharing his knowledge of butterflies with others. Russ is the Ecology Program Director for The Trustees of Reservations. He has worked for The Trustees since 1997, overseeing the stewardship of ecological resources at The Trustees’ more than 26,000 acres.

Whipple Wednesdays Drop-in Games
Ipswich Museum hosts a morning of fun and historic games at the Whipple House each Wednesday in July and August! There’s no need to make a reservation or stay the whole time - just drop in. We’ll have a variety of historic games to play, including rolling hoops, graces, fox & geese, and more! This is a free, all-ages program, but donations are appreciated.

Drop in at Joppa Flats and meet live caterpillars, moths, and butterflies! You’ll learn smart practices to attract birds and wildlife to your own yard as well as how to safely identify insects. Enjoy a "Backyard Bug Hunt' with our naturalists, join in a "Monarch Migration Relay Race," and take home a fun craft or two.

May the 4th is commonly known as Star Wars Day. This year, Newburyport Youth Services is excited to announce that we will be holding our 2nd Annual Star Wars party from 6:00-8:30pm. Start off your February vacation with a little competitive play. In this morning program, the Stevens-Coolidge Place will host three timeless outdoor games: capture the flag, scavenger hunt and red light/green light. So, get out your detective hats, lace up those winter boots and stretch those hamstrings because this morning will be full of running, jumping and climbing. Capture the flag will begin at 10:30am. Red light/green light and the scavenger hunt are ongoing, stop in anytime.

Marini Farm hosts a fun evening with American Chunker and Captain Dave Marciano of Wicked Tuna fame! Team AC is very excited to be headlining Marini Farms Family Fun Harvest Weekend, to join Captain Dave from National Geographic’s hit show Wicked Tuna as we take aim to annihilate a boat he’s bringing with him!. Marini Farms is the area’s premier farm and event attraction for family oriented fall activities. In addition to their award winning farm stand and bakery, they have attractions to satisfy families and children of all ages. There's an 8-acre world class corn maze, they also have a jumping pillow, 60 ft tube slide, bounce houses, hayrides, pick your own pumpkin patch, pedal cart track, rope maze, face painting, corn kernel silo, rubber duck races, play structures, sandcastles, and more!
