A Jack and the Beanstalk Panto!

Theater in the Open presents a Jack in the Beanstalk Panto at Maudslay State Park in Newburyport Massachusetts

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, it’s time one again for our Spring Pantomime! This time around we’ll be following the (mis)adventures of Jack and friends as they take the path much less traveled by, and learn some valuable lessons along the way…!!! Edward Speck and Josh Shack have planned another silly, playful Spring Panto that's full of surprises. Follow the Theater in the Open flags from the Maudslay parking lot. Allow ten minutes to stroll to the site and $5 for parking ($6 for out of state vehicles).

Easter Bunny Brunch and Egg Hunt at Tupper Manor

Easter Bunny Brunch, north of Boston. Families visit Massachusetts. Beverly MA

Hop over to Tupper Manor and celebrate Easter Sunday with a bountiful brunch. Savor the Chef’s Carving Station while enjoying the historic atmosphere of Tupper Manor and ocean views.
Families will enjoy a visit from the Easter Bunny and the return of the Easter Egg Hunt.

Curious George at CMNH

Kids will be able to meet Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat at the

Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat will be visiting the Children's Museum of New Hampshire to greet young fans and help promote the love of reading via the Books Alive program.  At this Books Alive event, museum staff will be reading Curious George stories by Margret and Hans “H.A.” Rey throughout the day. The friendly costumed monkey character, accompanied by the Man with the Yellow Hat, will be popping in and out to greet children, exchange a hug or high-five, and pose for photos.

North Shore Holiday Toy Drive

Senator Bruce Tarr & 104.9 FM encourage you to donate toys for kids in need!

With the need for toys at an all-time high for local children, Senator Bruce Tarr and 104.9 will once again broadcast live all day from nine locations on the North Shore to collect as many toys, gift cards, and monetary donations as possible to fulfill North Shore needs. The live broadcasts are open to the public and will feature local entertainment, schools choirs and bands, great food, and a visit with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus!

NCS Winter Concert - The Rose and the Night Star - Matinee

The Newburyport Choral Society Holiday Concert is a true mix of traditional and Spiritual music to get into the Holiday Spirit.

The NCS Winter Concert features the 140-voice chorus, professional soloists, orchestra, and the Greater Newburyport Children's Chorus, all performing classical, traditional and “sing-along” seasonal favorites!  The program will highlight Camille Saint-Saëns’ beautiful Christmas Oratorio, various musical settings of Lo How A Rose E’er Blooming, and an exciting multi-cultural piece from South Africa entitled, Hope for Resolution.

Kids Cookie Decorating Class at Marini Farm

Kids will learn how to decorate holidQay cookies at Marini Farm in Ipswich MA!

A class that will focus around decorating Holiday Cookies. Our little chefs will begin by decorating a holiday craft. They will then use their creative energy and icing to decorate their holiday cookies. Each chef will receive enough cookies to have a snack and take a few home.

  • Ages Pre - K and up reccommended (Only children participating need a ticket)
  • Event takes about an hour.
  • Parents are welcome to stay and help or walk around our christmas tree lot and holiday store.

Battle of the High School & Middle School Bands

Winners of this battle of the bands will perform at Rockport New Years Eve!

Open to any middle school or high school band (two or more members) from anywhere on Cape Ann or beyond. No fee to enter. Deadline for registration is September 15. Five bands will be chosen to compete on Saturday, October 7th at the Congregational Church of Rockport. Top two winning bands play on Rockport New Year’s Eve!

Green Friday: For the Love of Dogs!

Bring your dog to the Appleton Farms Grass rides for an after Thanksgiving Hike!

Join the Trustees at Appleton Farms Grass Rides on Green Friday to walk off that turkey with your best bud! Choose to get outside on Friday, November 25th and join us at the Grass Rides for a dog party. A special doggy quest through the Grass Rides will have treasure boxes with treats along the trails. Meet back up at the parking area for people and dog refreshments, free pup nail trimming, compliments of Paws With Inn, photo opportunities with Lauren Mac Petography, and more! First 50 dogs to complete the quest get a special gift!
