I heard a story about this on NPR yesterday. Apparently, Syracuse (NY) area choral groups combined in a "flash mob" to sing the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah Wednesday night in honor of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra's 50th anniversary.
When my three year old sits down at the TV to watch 'Curious George', 'Super Why!' or any other show that is part of PBS's fantastic lineup of PBS Kids programming, I can tell he is mentally engaged. He enjoys the programming, and absorbs the messages of learn, read, discover, create, and explore. I really don't think that he cares if Curious George is Republican or Democrat. To be honest, I don't think he cares that George is a monkey!
Being a good parent requires constant self education, and being able to find information resources that are valid and trustworthy is essential to achieving your goals as a dedicated parent and your child's primary teacher.
This is excellent news for PBS Kids, a site that we frequently use for on the fly entertainment, and as an educational resource.
