The Newbury Town Library invites teens to their Friday Flicks Series! We're showing movies in the Community Room  after school on the 3rd Friday of each month at 2:45pm, just for teens. Popcorn and water will be served. Movies will be rated PG or PG-13. This month we're showing [amazon:B017S3OP7A:inline] (PG-13), a movie based on the 2011 science fiction novel written by Andy Weir, his debut novel. Merrohawke Nature School, located in downtown Newburyport, is offering a new, entirely outdoors afterschool program at its field site in Newbury on Boston Road. Across 30 private acres, kids explore many different ecological habitats including a maritime forest, rocky ledges, wetlands, salt marsh, and the tidal Little River.

This week we learn about butterflies, how to catch them and what they eat! Adults and children can spend quality family time in the great outdoors finding, observing, and admiring local wildlife. Excursions might include a group game to burn off some steam, an on-the-water scavenger hunt, or a guided tour. We'll observe, investigate, and compare coastal environments and their inhabitants, both on- and offshore. Each adventure will leave your family excited to come back for more!

You're invited to Sandy Point to learn all about sand, where it comes from and surprising facts about the make up of sand!  Join the interpreter in a sand sifting excursion to find the composition of the material that covers our New England beaches. Appropriate for children.
