Jupiter String Quartet at Shalin Liu

The Jupiter String Quartet plays the Shalin Liu Center in Rockport Massachusetts

The Jupiter String Quartet is a particularly intimate group, consisting of violinists Nelson Lee and Megan Freivogel, violist Liz Freivogel (older sister of Meg), and cellist Daniel McDonough (husband of Meg, brother-in-law of Liz). The quartet chose its name because Jupiter was the most prominent planet in the night sky at the time of its formation, and the astrological symbol for Jupiter resembles the number four.

Wingmasters Presents "The World of Owls"

Newburyport Public Library will host Jim Parks of  Wingmasters for his 'World of Owls' presentation!  Jim will be teaching children about magnificent owls and how they use their specialized powers of sight, hearing, and flight to survive in the wild. Daughter of Winter Celebration

The Daughter of Winter is based in Essex Massachusets during the mid 1800s

This story of a twelve year old girl’s experience living on Hog Island during the winter brings together tales of the Essex landscape, the California gold rush and the Eastern Woodland Native Americans. Art Show Featuring Recycled Beach Finds

Learn about using recycled marine debris to create art at this presentation

Don't miss a special exhibit beginning with a lecture in honor of National Recycling Day. The art show will feature the work of Nina Cassel Samoiloff (read more about her HERE on Good Morning Gloucester) and the pieces she creates using elements she finds washed up on the beaches of Rockport. Her work will be on display in the NOAA Fisheries lobby weekdays from 8:00am – 4:30pm from November 15th until December 15th.
