Gloucester Education Foundation's Power of Play Festival

Gloucester Education Foundation is proud to host Power of Play Festival, a day of play for Gloucester Massachusetts families and kids of all ages. Gloucester Education Foundation's Power of Play Festival

Gloucester Education Foundation hosts the annual Power of Play Festival in Gloucester Massachusetts. A day of hands-on, low-tech play for all ages, hosted by Gloucester Education Foundation and run by a powerhouse team of community and student volunteers.

Power of Play centers around interactive family activities and is designed to be welcoming to a broad spectrum of ages, ability levels, and learning styles. It would take us all day to name all of the awesome activities at Power of Play, but here are a few: live band freeze dance, martial arts, a community fish mural, make-your-own sensory jars, giant box fort-building, touch and feel tables, an infant/toddler wiggle zone, and new this year: science activities all about the human body!

Why Play Matters:

  •  Play helps kids learn how to learn! Through play, kids hone their creative and critical thinking skills, figure out how to work together, and test their ideas.
  • Play is something every child, everywhere in the world can do. It fuels curiosity, sparks creativity, and inspires a lifelong love of learning.
  • Play is a universal language! Whether you speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Arabic, or use American Sign Language, play bridges
